Creative Visions Gathering

I feel like herding cats - or Board Members - is always a challenge, but we pulled off a Creative Visions gathering at a recent New York Sundowner at Carousel in Downtown New York.  Thanks to generous hosts John Velasco and Pete Kasko, our team met a room full of creative, active individuals. Human Trafficking

It’s hard to even conceive of the fact that nearly 40 million human beings are being trafficked every year.  Rachael Denhollander, herself a victim of sexual abuse when she was a gymanst under the care of USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, brought the horror alive in a conversation with James Haven, advisor to past three Presidential Administrations and Founder of “Safe Haven”, launching in 2020 to bring an end to human trafficking.  The event at Creative Visions drew many creative activists, who are working on films, documentaries and campaigns to combat human sex trafficking.

Women’s Leadership Awards

I was deeply honored to be in the company of four truly extraordinary women when the Malibu Chamber of Commerce awarded their Women’s Leadership Awards.  We’re lucky to be working with Lt. Jennifer Seetoo, formerly Malibu Sheriff, who is helping Creative Visions examine the pathways that lead to violence. In my speech, I focused on the important role that Malibu can play in inspiring the world around recovery from the profound trauma of the Woolsey Fires.  “Spark Malibu, Spark the World” is a statement which I believe is true and together, with these women leaders, I hope to bring it to reality.
