Like anyone else, I have faced profound challenges. I’ve had my heart broken more times than I can count. I lost my only son, Dan, when he was just 22. I experienced divorce, struggled with eating disorders, lost everything I had, fell in love again, helped my beloved husband recover from nearly fatal cancer—and then watched as our cherished neighborhood in Los Angeles was lost to fire.
Through all of life’s ups and downs, I have discovered that even the deepest pain can carry within it the seed of profound transformation.
Over the years, I’ve been privileged to work alongside creative activists, founders, community-builders, and global changemakers—people who, like me, believe in the power of creative problem-solving, storytelling, and activism to change ourselves and the world. As the founder of the Creative Visions Foundation, my life’s work has been devoted to helping visionaries, creative leaders, and impact-builders at pivotal moments to transform pain into power, find clarity of vision and fulfill their purpose.
